Amenities

It was 1938 when our premier amenity, piping hot mineral water, was accidently discovered by workers who were constructing the Coachella branch of the All American Canal. There in the morning shadows of Lions Head Peak, these workers stumbled upon water so rich, so wonderful, it has been compared to (and even surpassed) mineral waters from the finest of European spas.

While looking for water to mix concrete or clean gravel, the workers drilled down and quickly found something amazing - something miraculous. Piping hot mineral water - so hot it had to be cooled before use. These canal workers soon discovered that the water wasn't that great for mixing or cleaning. But, they did discover that once cooled a bit, these waters soothed their sore muscles, relaxed their tired joints, and simply made them feel better. A LOT better.

Construction teams moved on, and the therapeutic well was capped. But what had been created could not be denied. These waters were soon to flow again. This water was so rich with mineral content that in the 40's, people would come just to create instant fossils (Desert Magazine, August, 1946, Page 5).

It wasn't until the 50's that "Little Yellowstone" (Desert Magazine, November 1956, Page 18) as the spa was affectionately known, became a true hot spot for tourists and regulars. The healing waters had been discovered! People came in droves to experience these waters – to enjoy the camaraderie, and to begin a process of rejuvenation that the water provided.

Check out these pools (two of which are available for group rental, along with the clubhouse), and other great amenities, all awaiting you at the Glamis North Hot Springs Resort!
